Wavelengths

In its sixth year, the Wavelengths programme boasts avant-garde film, presenting works from filmmakers who also focus on poetry, music, painting, theatre and photography.

This year’s Wavelengths will show many artistic, trend-setting films including Christoph Brunner’s 3 Minuten (3 Minutes). In this three-minute film, Brunner creates three one-minute slots of a train station platform. Running the same strip of film through the camera over 200 times for four hours, Brunner presents a ghostly image of an vacant space.

Make sure to catch 3 Minuten on Saturday September 9th at 9:00 p.m. in the Al Green Theatre.

Another great addition to the Wavelengths programme is Lebanese director Akram Zaatari’s In this House. This half-hour film depicts Zaatari’s quest to expose a letter buried in a garden in a small village called Ain el Mir, southeast of Beirut. In this House is a story of the Lebanese resistance who lived in a family’s home in Ain el Mir for six years while the Israeli army resided in nearby hills. When fighting seized, one of the soldiers left a note of appreciation inside a B-10 gun shell.

Watch In this House on Friday September 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Al Green Theatre.
