Synopsis: The story of a Jewish singer, Rachel Steinn whose hiding place is destroyed. She decides to escape with other Jews but their boat is intercepted by Germans. She manages to flee, befriends a German SD officer named Muntze and changes her name to Ellis de Vries. In the meantime, the Resistance movement devises a plan to save the imprisoned Resistance figures with Ellis’ help but the plan fails—and both Germans and the Resistance blame her.
